Christopher is the author of the critically acclaimed book, Diet for a Dead Planet: Big Business and the Coming Food Crisis, recently released in paperback.  He has written extensively on labor, welfare, agribusiness and other issues for outlets such as Harper's, The Economist, Mother Jones, The Christian Science Monitor, The American Prospect, The Nation, The Progressive and In These Times.  His writing has been republished in numerous anthologies.  He has also worked as a reporter for The Oakland Tribune and United Press International, and as news editor for The San Francisco Bay Guardian.
