Christopher is the author of the critically acclaimed book, Diet for a Dead Planet: Big Business and the Coming Food Crisis, now available in paperback. He has written for the Los Angeles Times, Harper's, The Economist, Mother Jones, The Christian Science MonitorThe Nation, The American Prospect, The Progressive, Columbia Journalism Review and many others.  His writing has been republished in numerous anthologies. He has also worked as a reporter for The Oakland Tribune and United Press International and as city editor for The San Francisco Bay Guardian.
